About the Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Senior Python Developer to join our client's engineering team and contribute to building scalable, reliable and high-performance software solutions.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex engineering problems, designing robust backend systems, and taking ownership of technical decisions.

You will work closely with frontend engineers, product managers, UX/UI designers and other stakeholders to develop and deliver high-quality applications. You will have opportunities to influence backend architecture, improve engineering practices, optimize application performance and contribute to important technical decisions.

Depending on your experience, you may also mentor junior developers and help establish development standards across the engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend applications using Python.

• Build RESTful APIs and backend services using frameworks such as FastAPI, Django or Flask.

• Design and optimize database schemas, queries and data access patterns.

• Develop secure, reliable and high-performance application architectures.

• Integrate third-party APIs, external services and internal systems.

• Work with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud.

• Implement authentication, authorization, logging, monitoring and error-handling mechanisms.

• Write clean, reusable, maintainable and well-tested code.

• Identify performance bottlenecks and troubleshoot complex production issues.

• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions and architectural decisions.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile development environment.

• Mentor junior developers and contribute to engineering best practices where required.

Required Technical Skills

Programming & Backend Development

• Strong proficiency in Python.

• Hands-on experience with FastAPI, Django or Flask.

• Experience designing and developing REST APIs.

• Strong understanding of asynchronous programming and concurrency.

Databases & Data Management

• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL or other relational databases.

• Understanding of database design, indexing and query optimization.

• Familiarity with Redis or other caching technologies is beneficial.

Cloud & Infrastructure

• Experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure or GCP.

• Understanding of cloud-native application development.

• Familiarity with Docker and containerized applications.

• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.

Software Engineering

• Strong understanding of OOP, data structures and algorithms.

• Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows.

• Knowledge of application security, scalability and system design.

• Experience writing unit tests and integration tests.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with microservices architecture.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes and infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform.

• Exposure to message brokers such as Kafka, RabbitMQ or AWS SQS.

• Understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architecture.

• Experience with monitoring and observability tools.

• Exposure to AI/ML integrations or LLM-powered applications is an advantage.
